India based Adventnet/Zoho.com making Rs. 4 crore a month, featured on Forbes
Read this nice story featuring Indian Entrepreneur Sridhar Vembu on Forbes.
Sridhar runs a company Adventnet ( Network Management Software Company ) and Zoho.com ( Software as a Service Company )
According to the story done by Sramana Mitra,Sridhar's company is a 100%, bootstrapped, $40-million-a-year revenue business that sends $1 million to the bank every month in profits.
I guess most of the revenues are coming from their suite of several Network Management Software, but I believe Zoho.com is also getting a good traction with several collaborative and online productivity tools.
I first came across Zoho a year back, and had used some of their products. I was specially impressed with their ZohoWiki, which I found extremely easy to use compared to other products that I was evaluating that time.
It never occurred to me that Zoho was a India based company then, until I met their Director Sales in Hyderabad at the Infocomm Expo in November, where they were exhibiting. Incidentally, he also happened to be a member of ITVidya.com, and shared the Zoho story briefly.
A must read story for Indian Entrepreneurs and clearly shows the potential of the future of software models around Service Oriented Architecture. Well done Sridhar and the team at Adventnet and Zoho.com for demonstrating that Product companies in India do have a potentially great future.
The other interesting aspect the story brings out is the recruitment policies of the Company. The company prefers to hire employees from relatively unknown schools and colleges, train them by bringout the best in them. Remarkable, which many big and small companies can take inspiration from.

My Zoho review
I had reviewed zoho sheet when it was in beta.

I stopped using it later since I found google docs more promising.
