Atleast Double your Sales

I wish i knew this approach before, but well.

Got this link to a free presentation by my friend Rukesh Patel, who is a big advocate of Eliyahu Goldratt and his Theory of Constraints (ToC), and is aspiring to be a ToC consultant.

This audio-driven PPT presentation is about a new approach to sales based on TOC principles. The crux of the presentation is about how it's possible to apply TOC manufacturing thinking to the sales process, and in so doing, nearly double the sales that're generated and managed the conventional way.

Take a look and see if it makes sense to you.
Point to www.ballistix.com.au/presentation to download the presentation. It's available in two sizes: 7 MB and 16 MB.

You may choose to add my address ajay (at) itvidya.com in the referrel field before downloading.

....but I've always had the sense that there's a lot of very valuable stuff in ToC.

I'd be interested to find out more about ToC and its wider applications, but don't really know where to start. I'll download the presentation and take a look.

In the mean time, I'd be interested to hear from anybody who's used ToC a lot, just to know in what kind of areas it's proved to be useful.

All the best,
Patrick

What's TOC got to do with Sales?
Show / Hide Comment

Besides, of course, creating a huge bottleneck there with all the excess capacity it releases in production? That's the question that may be asked by folks whose exposure is limited to what can be termed as classical TOC.

Although TOC has come a long way since Eli Goldratt wrote The Goal over two decades ago, many readers continue to narrowly cling to its manufacturing context and fail to view it as a generic story about accomplishing a task using a number of resources.

Seen that way, the true intent and scope of TOC as an overall management philosophy shines through. All manner of applications such as those in Sales, Projects, Finance, Supply Chain, Distribution, Services, etc become possible.

The Ballistic method is an example of such wider application of TOC principles, in this context, to Sales. Take a look around your department, function, or your company itself. Is any constraint stopping you from achieving more of your goal? Chances are you can apply TOC to dramatic effect. Keep thinking!
