Bangalore’s image as an IT Hub of India & Indian IT Version 2.0

I just read this on Ajay's Blog where he discusses Wheather Bangalore is losing its sheen ?

So being a part of Indian IT industry and Bangalore I thought of Blogging about this on my blog Tech Tonic

I am here in Bangalore from more than 3 years..and i have seen it at the time when SM Krishna was chief misnister. That time Bangalore was at it best, but after that the consecutive govts. failed to cope up with the basic demands of Bangalore.

As if now Bangalore seems to losing its sheen! And there are lot of factors behind it( Infrastructure devlopment being on the top of the list). But apart from that there is other main factor which i think is attitude of local people & govt.

So from the current prospective of Indian in Services field, Bangalore defnitly seems to be loosing its share, which other cities like Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai are gaining.

But if we look in long terms, Say Indian IT Version 2.0 (moving forward from services from R&D and Devlopement), then Bangalore seems to emerge as a leader.

The missing link in Indian IT Industry for Startups start the Developement Phase:

  • Entreprenurs with fresh ideas.
  • Angle investors to seed funds, and
  • Networks for Start-Ups to tap into)And as far as I think Bangalore has the potential to bridge this missing link for Startups in India.

But Bangalore seems to fill this missing link.

There are few reasons behind it:

  • Bangalore is the only city which has got a good recognition as IT Hub of India.
  • There are lots of VC's in Bangalore.
  • The Silicon Valley VC's are coming back. And this time they are trying to recreate the Silicon Valley in Bangalore.
  • With the establishment of Silicon Valley Bank(which tied up with StanChart to finance local Startups) in Bangalore.

So as far as I think Bangalore is defenitly going to emerge as an IT hub and centre for Global Start-Ups in India.
