Todays society is fast emerging as the closely networked and intermingled one and that has been possible with the Information
Communication Technology (ICT). The ICT means use of the Computing and Communiation Technology i.e. Computers with Wired/ wireless based interconnection network providing the 24x7 connectivity.
Now the question arises, whether the technology that has enabled a great interaction and facility of computing thus made possible exchange of bulk of information be hazardous ?
The answer to it is perfectly !!!Yes!!!
The problem is not with the technology but with the use and deployment of the same. If the technology is deployed for betterment it is boon otherwise not. Consider the case o Nuclear Technology, the energy which it can generate is much more than the conventional resources but if deployed for devastation the results are Hiroshima & Nagasaki.
Similar is the case with computers, it can be used for exchange of views, data and expressions etc and same could be deployed for exchanging the malicious code or illegal, pornographic, stolen data these violate the rights of the individual.
Invasion of Privacy
The menace of the privacy intrusion by high technology has cropped up with the availability of the mobile/ cameras. The use of the mobile camera for the purposes of taking snaps of individuals of their private moments and making the same public. This is applicable to not only the dignitaries but also to the common man. The problem gets complex with the techniques of morphing the picture with another with ulterior motive to harass, embarass, threaten, or resolving personal vendetta by publishing the same. This causes the lowering the image of the person's image before the social circle.
In such a siuations, persons are either unaware of their rights and more often they shy away from taking recourse to legal action due to the likelyhood of the embarassment that they may have to face in case of prolonged litigations. These can be dealt with severely if and only if the victim stands against them firmly and ensure that the case reaches its desired conclusion.
In such a situation a complaint can be lodged with the local police and in case the same is embarassing action against the company can also be taken.

....is the third wave of IT development.
I heard well-known IT analyst Robin Bloor speak a few years ago. He made the point that there have been three main waves of IT development since the 1960s.
1st wave: automation of the back office (e.g. accounting systems)
2nd wave: automation of the front office (e.g. CRM, trading screens, etc.)
3rd wave: automation of the "NO OFFICE"
What he meant by this is that the current wave of applications are doing things that could not possibly have been done without the Internet.
A great example of this is Plaxo. If one of my contacts changes their mobile phone number, this would once have been a problem. Now, thanks to Plaxo, their new number will AUTOMATICALLY arrive in my mobile phone. This is almost like magic, yet we take this kind of thing for granted. The key to it is machine to machine interaction, without any direct human involvement.
What's possible now? I have no idea, but we're going to find out over the next few years.....
