Developer Story of 2006-07

This is a story that will make rounds in the internet during 2006-07 and beyond. This is a story that belongs to the common people who can do uncommon things provided they commit themselves and work with extreme passion if there is optimal scope for them to think with their right brain and influence their left brain to realize the thoughts. Little more about the Brain at http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/13.02/brain.html

This is a story that will encourage many more ordinary people in India and all over the world to pursue their extraordinary or unconventional ideas for the sake of larger human needs.

Here goes the story.

Prashant Bhat, from Yellapur completed his BE in the year 2003 in a college in Belgaum. He was looking for an opportunity and was referred by a friend to join me at Zudha. As usual I told him he can join as a trainee to learn how to develop software working on some real projects and then at the end of 3 months the company will absorb him as a paid employee if he proved. He picked up at amazing pace to write quality code in Java. Unfortunately, he was lured by an unscrupulous element to join another company. It was Prashant's bad luck that he had to get back to Zudha as the project that was anticipated by the company he newly joined did not arrive at all! The rest is history with Prashant becoming the creative architect of the Samooha Peer-to-Peer Business Platform http://www.samooha.com based on a few Open-Source projects in Java and his own experience in exploring JXTA technology.

Prashant was not alone. He was joined by his equally creative colleagues, Sangamesh Gugwad from Gulbarga, Sandeep Shetty and Kartik Bhat from Udipi who were absorbed as Team Leaders after they completed their Industrial Training in 2004-05 at Zudha as part of the Master's degree in Software they pursued in a Deemed University in Karnataka. The team of four leaders, with the support of several other developers and business consultants who served and guided Zudha through its inception in 2003, was able to create a niche Peer-to-Peer Business Application Platform that includes an enterprise search component, global sourcing and peer-to-peer business networking features while taking care of all the needs of extending it to any level by anyone in the world for any needs in business software under an arrangement with the Managers of Samooha Cooperative.

The circumstances under which the leaders have not yielded to give up on their path to innovate and realize a product that can be termed first of its kind in the world calls for my Open Appreciation as their supportive colleague in pursuing the ambitious project that would inspire at least 10000 more youngsters in India to think differently and act upon it.

Samooha Base Platform is just tip of the iceberg. You can explore and extend it creatively to tell me your story and I promise to include that in my next version if it deserved a mention.

This world goes round with a few people's EFFORTS and VISION. We in India need to have more of these “few” in HER own interest as the world benefits if India benefits.

Just a small portion of the “never ending story” by an ordinary Indian! May be shared with any Netizen!

It was great exchanging our thoughts during your visit! Hectic activities going on and seems like we are getting tremendous support including a few requests for investment opportunities for JVs in different countries. The team is upbeat about this phase!! I am glad to see that ITVidya is gaining good response as well. Keep up the great work.
Cheers,
Rajesh
