Design Degree Show (DDS) is the annual event, showcasing the design efforts at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay. DDS is aimed at creating design awareness in society and simultaneously offers a platform for people to meet and interact, as a facilitator for new ideas to emerge and fruitful collaborations to materialize.
The following events are being organized as part of DDS 2008:

1. Exhibition of Student Projects
2. Student Project Presentations
3. Exhibition of Design Schools in India
4. IDC Animation/Film Screenings
5. Workshop on Design for High School Students
6. Workshop for Design Students
7. Evening Seminars on Design
8. Designers meet

This year the DDS exhibition, themed 'Poorna', is being held at Nehru Centre, Mumbai from 25-27 th May 2008 and further at IDC, IIT Bombay from 29-31 st May 2008. The exhibition will consist of exhibits displaying the design solutions of graduating students from the streams of Visual Communication and Product Design. Alongside the exhibition, the students shall be delivering short presentations on their work and will screen their project films and animations.

This year along with the exhibition and presentation of projects, a number of events are scheduled alongside which students, professionals and general public can be a part of:

During the 29th to 31st of May, Workshops for Design students and professionals shall be held at IDC, along with 'Evening Seminars' on the various issues of design. The workshops will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm while the talks shall be held from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Evening Talks by Professionals:

During the 29th to 31st of May there will be 'Evening Talks' on various issues of design. This attracts a large number of participants since eminent speakers from the design community are invited. The talks will be held at the Industrial Design Centre. The timings for this event is 5:30pm - 8:00pm.

Design Workshops for High School Students: 'Abhikalpa 2008'

On the 29th, 30th and 31st of May 2008, 9.30am - 12.30pm, workshops will be held for High School children to introduce them to Design. This event will be held at IDC, IIT Bombay.
This year, we are holding 'Abhikalpa' - workshops for high school students on different areas of design such as Auto Design, Animation, Game and Toy Design, Brand Identity Design and Music Video Design.

Design Workshops for Design Students and professionals:

On the 29th, 30th and 31st of May 2008, 2.00pm - 4.30pm, workshops will be held by eminent designers for Design students and professionals at IDC.

Meeting:

' Designers meet and Dinner: ' 31st of May 2008 at 8.00 pm IDC, IIT Bombay
The Design Meet is being held at 8.00pm on Thursday 31st May- is a meeting point for all professional designers, IDCians, visiting faculty, IDC staff and faculty. The meet is followed by dinner.
