CMMI High Maturity Initiative:

The Hi-Maturity Mantra: Understand the past, Control and improve the present and Predict the future – quantitatively, is based on understanding variation as a basis for management by fact and systematic improvement. Explore the PPM(Process Performance models): PPMs use various measurements to provide insight and predictability for business critical process and product characteristics to achieve objectives which cannot be measured until later in life cycle. PPMs are used for analyzing and predicting impact, benefit and ROI when evaluating/selecting-

  1. Defects and problems for causal analysis and actions proposal for profitable implementation
  2. Process and Technology improvement and Innovative proposal for profitable implementation
  3. Relate the behavior or circumstances of a sub-process to an outcome or impact on objective
  4. Predict future outcomes based on possible or actual changes to factors
  5. Perform sensitivity analyses

Quantitative management involves “Statistical thinking” and the correct use of statistical techniques to profitably implement CAR and OID at project and organizational level.
To improve predictability, stabilize sub processes upstream => reduce unwanted variation downstream => improving prediction and performance => lead indicators for achieving objectives
