BlogCampPune is a free unconference focusing exclusively on blogging, organized by bloggers for bloggers. It's built upon the principles of the famous Barcamp (ad-hoc unconference) focussed on sharing, learning and new ideas.
This is going to be an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction between attendees. Any blogger who wants to contribute is welcome and invited to join.
Blogcamp is meant for all the people who Blog, irrespective of what they blog about.
I was at Barcamp Pune when the idea of having a Blogcamp came to my mind. I discussed it with Parag and Ranjan and they also liked the idea of having an unconference about blogosphere.
We discussed about various issues like authenticity of Blogs, etiquettes on blogosphere, freedom of speech being abused on blogosphere, data finding problem on blogosphere and some classics like Blogs as parallel media, bloggers as citizen journalists etc. We thought it will be great if we can have a lot of bloggers discussing about these and many issues about blogosphere. Blogcamp Pune can act as stage where we can find answers to all these problems and many other questions.
More than 250 Bloggers from all over India discussing cool and uncool things about blogs & blogosphere. Since it's going to be an unconference what exactly going to take place, will be decided on the run.
Best support that anyone can give is by participating in the event. ITVidya is home of various Tech Bloggers, we would love to have them over at the camp and share their thoughts on Blogosphere. They can also help us in spreading word about Blogcamp by blogging about the event or by displaying a Blogcamp Badge (available here) on their blogs. If they are interested in helping us out to organize the event they can add themselves as the volunteers at our wiki.
So far it's been going really good. We started out with a team of four people and now we have grown to be a team of 8 people, consisting of Parag Shah, Tushar, Ranjan, Kausikram, Syed, Rajesh and I. We have got really good support from organizers of Barcamps in all the cities in India. SCIT (Symbisis Center fro IT) has been a great support, they have agreed to let us host Blogcamp in their premises. Sulekha.com is our first Platinum Sponsor and we are getting good response from various other sponsors.
That's fairly simple. Visit our wiki (http://barcamp.org/BlogCampPune) add your name in the Participants list and turn up at SCIT on 16th of June.

Nice work Tarun,
Blogging is a tremendously impactful concept. I am hoping we will be able to help people realize at least some of the benefits of blogging and help them create an online identity for themselves.
Regards
Parag
