Mark Andreesen on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace

Mark Andreessen, investor in Twitter and on Board of Facebook, spoke to Reuters and made the following pionts

  • Revenues of Facebook to grow from $500 million to $1 billion this year.
  • Advertising needs to be pushed harder to achieve the $1 billion target
  • However Myspace made the mistake of pushing advertising too much, and not investing enough in the platform.
  • Thus, it is important for Facebook and Twitter to continue to have its dominance without worrying too much of revenues
  • Eventually Facebook will make billions in revenues
  • Myspace can still bounce back and regain its dominance, but it will be very difficult
  • He regrets having not invested in Facebook.
