Learnings from SaaS Seminar last week in Pune
Last week, Symphony services launched Crescendo, a premier technology seminar series. The first event had SaaS (Software as a Services ) as the theme. Announcing the launch of `Crescendo’, Shirish Deodhar, Senior VP, Symphony Services, said, "`Crescendo’ is a platform to share our experiences on emerging areas of technology, delivery excellence in product development, off-shoring, innovation and trends that will shape the industry in the years to come."
Crescendo, Launched in Pune, will also be taken to other metros, where thought leaders in
the industry including customers of Symphony will share their knowledge with the attendees.
In his launch speech, Shirish also adressed the evolution of the offshore outsouring and newer trends in outsourcing. He mentioned that we have come a long way and are now entering the 5th generation of Outsourcing, which is about Value based Partnership, where there is a equal partnership between the client and the vendor, where innovation is co-created.
Nagi Prabhu, VP then addressed the audience with his engaging talk on "Get Savvy with SaaS". The agenda of this talk included, What is SaaS?

Next on the list of speakers was Ariel Gordon, CTO, BMC Software. He spoke about An alternate perspective on SaaS/On-Demand. He mentioned that SaaS is a very old model and companies like Automatic Data Processing, Inc, Sabre, Amadeus, Swift, DST International have been using the concept since many years, however the dynamics are changing where new kids on the block are able to introduce innovation and are capitalizing on the univeral browser based deployment of integrated appplications.
