Dear Friends,
This content was published in Linux For You magazine and I am reproducing it for the benefits of ITVidya members.
Motorola has come with a new music-enabled mobile that syncs its Linux operating system with Microsoft's Windows Media player on Windows XP, as well as on PCs running Vista.
Motorola also announced a new music handset that uses Enhanced Data GSM Envoriment (EDGE). EDGE is a faster version of Global Slandered for Mobile Communications (GSM) services that enables data to be delivered at speed up to 384 K bits/ sec. Doubled the MOTOMING with EDGE, the handset is also linux based device. It, however uses the RealPlayer Media player.

Motorola acquired Symbol recently. Symbol which enjoys monopoly of sort in rugged and barcode enabled PDAs recently gave up palm os in favour of windows mobile os for its PDAs. Interestingly palm os is now a wrapper on linux os. So Motorola again starts making symbol pdas with linux (palm from access) or continue with windows mobile os remains to seen.
These M&As really have some interesting permutations and combinations of strategies is what I will say.
