High attrition rate in BPOs situated in metros and increasing cost of real estate is forcing several BPOs to think of Tier II cities as an attractive option. Non-metro cities offer an ample supply of manpower at 25 to 30 per cent cost compared to metro hubs such as Gurgaon-Delhi-Noida, Bangalore, Channai and Mumbai. Apart from that, the cost of real estate and transport is also much cheaper in smaller cities. Besides, it makes sense for the BPOs to spread out to smaller cities to achieve geographical spead for better disaster management.
