This Beta release is a preview of the fully-supported version of ASP.NET AJAX scheduled for release by the end of this year. Beginning with this Beta release, the Microsoft AJAX Library is also available in an easy-to-install, standalone package for development on non-Windows systems.

What is ASP.NET AJAX?

ASP.NET AJAX is a free framework for quickly creating a new generation of more efficient, more interactive and highly-personalized Web experiences that work across all the most popular browsers.
