Date :October 13th and 14th 2007
Venue :Bhaskaracharya Pratishthan, Pune
What is it about
About 200 developers, techies, creative graphics artists from across India are planning to gather together at PLUG's FOSS Mashup this October to hack code, network with peers and demo their wares.
What do they do
They will team up to code snippets, functions and applications using free and open source software using Rails, Python, PHP, Perl to build solutions around Asterisk, Apache, Firefox and more. All software developed at the hack-a-thon will be released with open source licenses and will be available for download from the camp website. Participants can highlight their work to colleagues as well as on their CVs.
Areas of Interest:
There is NO restriction on the technology to be used, as long as its Free & Open Source. (Neither does the tech have to be hip or cool). However, just to give a general idea :
A few slots for FOSS technology gurus will be available to talk about the latest in technologies such as Rails, MySQL. Make your suggestions for topics and we will see if we can fit it in. However, the event is mainly about coding, not talks.
And much more is going to be followed up...
