BangaloreIT.in last night hosted a Networking dinner which was attended by VIPs, exhibitors and a select invitees, the theme of the networking was IT Parks.
Pune was the talk of the evening,due to a smart move by Pune Based property developers Panchshil Realty who sponsored the networking dinner and got to showcase their premium project, EON FREE ZONE.
EON FREE ZONE is India's first IT & ITES specific SEZ Project located in Kharadi, Pune.
It has a built-up area of 4 million square feet space, divided into 4 clusters of million square feet each. Typical floor plate size ranges from 29,000 sq.ft to 32,000 sq.ft.
The first cluster is exected to be operations from as early as March 2007. It will also have Helicopter facility for pickup from Pune and Mumbai airport.
The demand has been huge, and Panchshil with their transaction partners Cushman & Wakefield are believed to have sold off the large part of the available space.
This large IT SEZ should further boost the economy of Pune and will also be good news for the over 100,000 graduates from Pune.
West Bengal was also seen aggressively promoting itself to the large Indian IT companies with promises of competitive costs of living, lowest attrition rate, higher quality of life, no traffic jams, quality talent pool etc.
West Bengal is building India's largest IT park with over 1.30 crore square feet space and should generate 1,30,000 jobs in the next 3 years. It is also setting up a Knowledge corridor at Rajarhat in Kolkata for global IT Players and a new town will be built on 8,000 acres with integrated facilities, including schools, hospitals, playgrounds, theatres.
