What is the total headcount of SAP Professionals ?
Where is the skill gap and What is SAP doing to fill the gap ?
Ranjan Das, President and CEO, responded that he thinks there must be approximately 500,000 SAP Consultants globally. There is a huge shortage of SAP Professionals, not just in India, but across the world. According to research, there is an approximate shortage of about 60,000 SAP Professionals globally.
In India, there is a high demand of SAP Consultants in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Shortage of skills is even higher in areas of Supply Chain Management, Government Risk Compliance and various Analytics Consultants in Business Objects.
Bill Mcdermott, the global CEO added that to fill the gap, SAP is actively working at all levels, including setting up E-learning Centres and with Universities. They have rolled out University Alliance Partner program to nurture freshers and give them insights into the enterprise.
At the rapid pace at which SAP is growing worldwide and in India, those who will be adopting SAP career will continue to reap rich rewards.
