Silent Transformation of Small Business World

Few things in life happen without much realization that they indeed have made an impact on us.

Until last year the concept of Samooha was faintly residing in the minds of Techies at Zudha. It all happened when they set off to write a Software component for an existing Open Source ERP. However, the experience gained from implementing ERP for small enterprises in India and the lessons learnt from User Maturity Level in emerging markets motivated them to target a much lower segment of the enterprise pyramid and then on Samooha was a thrilling endeavour.

Samooha has now silently been downloaded more than 1000 times and this is no small number given the bulky Setup file that need to be downloaded by small businesses with weak internet connections.

The excitement of seeing companies from all over the world coming on and off in the network surely is a sign of what is in store for those small enterprises who make Samooha their friendly Online Salesman!

In the next 3 months Samooha may cross 10000 mark and by the end of this year the critical mass of 100000 downloads would be real scene of action for these SMEs to explore global trade opportunities than ever before! The multiplier effect after that is beyond our imagination and probably the contributors would be quite content that something worthwhile was done for the SMEs while most qualified ones served their big masters.

In the coming month I will be spreading the good news about Samooha in Singapore, meeting some of the most active and aggressive entrepreneurs in manufacturing and trading sectors.

The silent transformation of SMEs through Samooha could be one of the few things that happen in the lives of the Small Business Owners without them realizing how IT has made an impact in their lives until they experience it themselves anytime during the year 2007-2008.
