The Mobile Pod system is a service-oriented architecture that allows Pod Developers to create content for self-contained functional blocks of HTML known as Mobile Pods. Mobile Pods utilize remote scripting to keep actions driven through the Pods themselves. Pods have a consistent look and feel and provide a consistent interface for a variety of functions such as adding the application to your Mobile Homepage, sharing it with friends, rating it, etc.

The Mobile Pod system is unique in that it allows content to be sourced externally. It also provides a way for Pod Developers to generate content dynamically using our system of templates without the need for a database.

The Mobile Pod system uses HTTP as the transport mechanism and HTTP GET requests to query the content provider with information passed using parameters in the query string. The content provider returns responses in the form of HTML with special tags. The Pod proxy server evaluates these tags and dynamically renders the content.
