In my years in IT, watching green monitors while I grew up manufacturing PCs and learning COBOL to now when this generation talks about JAVA and JOOMLA, IT has come a long way --- or has IT !!!!
I see a lot of frustration in today's youth which has lead to utter confusion and chaos while choosing careers in IT. A lot of people in this forum will agree with me and realise that they themselves in some point of their careers felt the same...
So while i grew up in IT -- when the next innovation was atleast 3 years away, life was much simpler because we could not see beyond COBOL, PASCAL, FORTRAN, C and then C++.....
Today with technology getting obsolete in 15 days to something new being announced next week, life in IT has been driven at break-neck speeds and hence confusion prevails to the core....
But, i feel the logic and basics still remain the same. Even today, programmers are born with that skill and designers become obsolete by the day.
So, what is the newbie supposed to do if he/she is starting or planning to start a career in IT today !!!!
With so much to choose, confusion has to be round the bend .....
In my next PART i'll shed some light on the paths that one can choose to start a successful career in IT even today and earn those GREEN bucks as they say :-)
So till next time chiao :-)
