Whew, that a very hectic couple of weeks b4 the festivals start and a lot of confused IT entrants asking me too many confused questions ... Confused , then read on :)
In part 3 of the onging series, i think a very relevant question that has been popping up almost frequently at my lectures is "Is network security relevant and what course should i take up to get into a career in network security ??"
Interesting, but confusing too !!!
A lot of people have been asking a lot of wayward questions about network security unfortunately with half knowledge about the field of networks....
This part, let me take up the so called HOT HOT CEH certification !!!
CEH is a Certified Ethical Hacker exam conducted by the EC Council to certify supposedly ETHICAL HACKERS ----- "I've met a few and boy 'o boy, these guys are no better than script kiddies :).....
Sorry to all authentic CEH'ers, but i guess most of those certified CEH'ers have no experience of actually hacking into a network and that to ethically !!!!!
Yes, it's a very lucrative career prospect, but as a CEH, a lot of resposiblities also add up once you are hired as an Ethical Hacker...
It costs around 12,500 INR to give the exams and not many institutes run courses on CEH.
The CEH exams come in 2 flavours, the 312-50 and the 312-49. The 312-50 is for those who have taken a course at a registered CEH training centre, while 312-49 is for those brave souls who have done it all by themselves.
At the end of it all they give the same or a similar certificate to both successful CEH'ers.
As the saying goes, CEH'ers mature in time. The more you Ethically hack, the more you rise as an Ethical hacker .....
Hope this has been of help to all prospective CEH'ers and would provide the right steps in pursuing a career as a CEH.
Cheers till next time
Let's challenge the Un-Ethical Hackers :)
